PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Nainital

In view of the immersion ceremonies marking the conclusion of the five-day Durga Puja Festival slated on October 2, Nainital police have drawn up a traffic diversion plan to keep vehicular movement smooth on the day.

As per the plan, when the Shobha Yatra will emerge from DSA flat parking via Masjid Tiraha to Ghoda Stand, the traffic coming from Lower Mall Road and Upper Mall Road Tallital to Mallital will be diverted from Ghoda Stand and sent to Sukhatal via Mohan.

Likewise, when the immersion processions will advance from Masjid Tiraha to Ghoda Stand, the traffic going from Sukhatal Manu Maharani Tiraha to Tallital will be diverted from Chinababa Tiraha and will go to Dant Tallital via Metropole market and  Raj Bhavan Road. Those who are to park their vehicles will do so in Metropole parking. This diversion will remain in effect till the end of the Shobha Yatra.

Similarly, when the procession will move from Mohan Chowk towards China Baba-Bada Bazaar via Ghoda Stand, the traffic coming from Sukhtal will be diverted from Barapathar Tiraha and will move via Raj Bhavan Tiraha via Sherwood College.

In the same way, when the procession leaves from Ghoda Stand, the traffic coming from Haldwani and Bhawali will be stopped for some time on the newly constructed ramp from Dant Chauraha towards Lower Mall. When the procession will go ahead of HDFC Bank, then the vehicles will be allowed to leave Mallital from the newly constructed ramp.
