Police find man accused of killing 2-year old daughter

The police have narrowed down on the man accused of killing his two-year-old daughter whose body was found in a sugarcane field with the throat slit on Tuesday. After killing the girl, the man had slit his own throat too and is being treated for his injury at AIIMS in Rishikesh.
During investigation after the body was found in the SIIDCUL police station area, the villagers told the police that they had seen an injured person near the spot where the body was discovered. On the basis of the photo of the deceased girl, the police questioned people around to identify her. In the investigation, some people said that the deceased girl lived with Kuldeep, a native of Tikri village in Baghpat. Kuldeep was a truck driver working in the SIIDCUL area of Haridwar. It was learnt that he had been in a live-in relationship with Shabana from Bijnor for the past four years. Superintendent of police (City) Swatantra kumar said that the police contacted Shabana who told the police that the couple had a fight a few days ago. She went to her home in Bijnor after the argument while the daughter was with Kuldeep. Shabana told the police that Kuldeep was not ready to marry her legally. She was pressurising him for marriage and was asking for a child if he didn’t want to marry.
