Police nab loan fraudster, looking for accomplice

In latest news from Uttarakhand, Uttarkashi police arrested a loan fraud accused, allegedly working for an inter-state gang posing himself as a loan agent, from Warisaliganj in Bihar. Police said that the accused, identified as Ravi Kumar hailing from Nawada district of Bihar, had duped a number of people of lakhs of rupees on the pretxt of sanctioning loan to them from branded loan disbursal companies. Taking the matter seriously, the superintendent of police Uttarkashi Arpan Yaduvanshi had directed the circle officer Barkot Surendra Singh Bhandari and the station house officer Purola to arrest the fake loan agent. Police had been on the lookout for the fraudster since the order came. Sharing details, a police officer privy to the details said that they were now looking for an accomplice of the arrested person identified as Gopal hailing from the same village as Ravi Kumar’s who is suspected to be involved in the loan fraud racket. He further said that loan fraud cases against this duo had been registered in Maharashtra and West Bengal aside from Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Police further said that the accused who had been produced at court had confessed to the crime during interrogation.
