PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

The workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress came face to face outside the headquarters of the State Congress during a protest organised by the State BJP on Monday. A heavy deployment of police prevented a violent clash between the agitated workers of the two parties.

The BJP workers staged the protest at the Parade Ground to express their anger on the derogatory comment made against the mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally of opposition parties in Bihar recently.

Large number of workers of the Congress party were present inside the Rajiv Bhawan when the BJP staged the protest. From Parade Ground some workers of the BJP come outside the Rajiv Bhawan prompting the Congress workers to confront them. The police had a tough time in controlling the situation and preventing a clash between the workers of both the political parties.

The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Suryakant Dhasmana said that the party had written a letter to the director general of Police that the BJP workers can attack the Congress office. He said that despite heavy deployment of Police, a group of BJP workers managed to come outside the Congress office.  Dhasmana said that the abuse hurled on the mother of PM Modi is part of the tool kit of the BJP and an attempt to divert attention from the ‘ Vote Chor Gaddi Chod’ campaign of the Congress party.
