A total of 42 accused have been arrested by the police so far for their alleged role in the Haldwani riot on February 8. The police have now released posters seeking information to nab nine men wanted for their role in the riot. These include the prime accused and others. The Nainital police also pasted the wanted posters of these accused across the city on Friday. The police are continuously searching for these accused in all possible places, the officials said. They said that the police have identified all the accused so far through CCTV footage obtained from cameras installed in the violence affected area.
The nine wanted accused have been identified as the prime accused Abdul Malik, Taslim Qureshi, Wasim, Ayaz Ahmad, Raes, Abdul Moyeed, Shaqeel Ansari, Moqueen Saifi and Jiah Ul Rehman. The police stated that if any person gets any information about these miscreants, they can inform Nainital police on the contact numbers 9411112743, 9411112741, 9411110396 and police control room numbers 9411112979 and 9412087770. The officials said that the police teams are constantly searching for the accused involved in Vanbhulpura violence.
The police have also recovered illegal weapons and cartridges from the arrested accused. Besides this, the police have also suspended the arms licenses of over 120 people in the Vanbhulpura area as per the district magistrate’s order and have collected more than 41 weapons from locals.
