The Uttarakhand Police headquarters on Saturday transferred a total of 51 inspectors to different units and districts across the state. Among them, 21 officers were recently promoted from the post of Platoon Commander. The transfers have been made to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the upcoming Char Dham Yatra.
To improve traffic management during the yatra, 12 traffic inspectors have been posted in 10 districts, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Almora and Bageshwar. Officials said this step will help in handling the heavy rush of pilgrims and maintaining smooth traffic flow.
In addition, five platoon commanders have been promoted and appointed as reserve inspectors in districts like Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Udham Singh Nagar and Bageshwar. Also, 34 platoon commanders have been transferred to SDRF, IRB and PAC units.
The police department said that these changes are part of preparations to strengthen safety and improve overall arrangements during the Char Dham Yatra.
