With snowfall and rain remaining elusive in the State, the State Meteorological Centre has issued a weather warning for Monday. A yellow warning has been issued regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar districts and plains of Nainital, Champawat, Pauri and Dehradun districts. Ground frost is also likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State. In addition to this, cold day conditions are likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar districts and plains of Nainital, Champawat, Pauri and Dehradun districts of the State on Monday. Apart from this, dry weather is forecast across the State today.
It will be recalled that though light rain and snowfall was forecast in some mountainous regions some days ago, the expected change in weather has remained elusive. According to the meteorological centre, very light to light rain/snow is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts of the State on Tuesday. Snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 2,800 metres and above on the same day. After that, dry weather is forecast in the State till January 10.
