Punia, Patil to assess poor performance of Cong in U’khand

The central leadership of Congress party has started the process of finding the causes for the poor performance of the party in some States in the recently held Lok Sabha elections. The Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge constituted fact finding committees which will assess the poor performance of the Congress party in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Delhi/Uttarakhand/ Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana.
Senior leader PL Punia and Rajni Patil are the members of the fact finding committee constituted for Uttarakhand. This committee will also assess the causes of the party’s pathetic performance in HP and Delhi.
In Uttarakhand the Congress party faced a third consecutive defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. The party lost all the five seats in the State. The committee will visit the State and interact with party leaders and workers and submit its report to the party president.
