The Bharatiya Janata Party said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with students in Dehradun was a scripted affair which was just a drama that wasted the time of students. BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that this was the occasion to boost the morale of 11 lakh students who succeeded in the NEET exam but the Congress leader wasted the opportunity spreading lies and rumours.
“Rahul Gandhi did not say anything new which made it appear as if he learnt nothing new during his latest 20-day foreign tour. He is a non-serious part time politician who is not taken seriously by the people of Uttarakhand. His relaunching in the State and nation appears impossible this time too,” he said.
Stating that ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ was a flop show of the Congress, he said that the Congress is exploiting students with an eye on the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections in Uttarakhand. “His programme here was not an interaction with students but a frustrated attempt to re-establish himself and the party in a state where the party has lost its public base. The rehearsed questions and answers attempted to spread lies and rumours on NEET which he repeats,’Bhatt said.
The BJP State president said that Gandhi went abroad after the NEET exam was successfully conducted in a transparent manner. The examination result had been released and more than 11 lakh students had passed it by the time he returned. Bhatt said that Gandhi had come to Uttarakhand in view of the coming Assembly elections, not in the interest of students and youth. The people of Uttarakhand are aware of the Congress’ old tricks and will not fall for them, he said.
