Railway collects Rs 36,950 penalty in ticket checking drive at Haridwar station

Railway authorities collected Rs 36,950 as penalty during a ticket checking drive at Haridwar station on Wednesday. Along with this, the officials collected Rs 17,610 as fare, bringing the total collection to Rs 54,569.
The officials informed that the campaign was conducted under the supervision of assistant commercial manager (II) Ankit Sharma with 19 ticket checking staff and five personnel of Railway Protection Force (RPF).
The teams conducted inspections of a total of 18 trains and checked 148 passengers. The official informed that the drive was organised on the instructions of senior divisional commercial manager Aditya Gupta to prevent ticketless and unauthorised travel.
They said that such drives will be carried out regularly at stations and trains across the division to prevent revenue loss and enforce travel rules.
