Railway minister to inaugurate new train service between Kotdwar and Delhi

The Union Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will virtually inaugurate a new railway service from Kotdwar to Anand Vihar terminal in New Delhi on Saturday.
According to the railway officials, this train will leave Kotdwar every day at 10 PM via Najibabad, Mauzampur Narayan, Laksar, Tapri, Deoband, Muzaffarnagar and Meerut. It will reach Anand Vihar terminal in Delhi at 4:35 AM. They said that the train will depart from Anand Vihar terminal at 9:45 PM and reach Kotdwar at 3:50 AM.
The train will reach Najibabad at 11:50 PM from Kotdwar. The proposed time of arrival of the train at Najibabad station from Anand Vihar Terminal is 2:55 AM, as per the current schedule of the train, said the officials. They said that this train service will benefit many people, especially those who belong to mountainous areas of the Garhwal region and have to travel frequently between Delhi and Garhwal areas. It is pertinent to mention here that a delegation of local businessmen from Kotdwar met Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni in Delhi in August and asked him for the operation of a railway service between Kotdwar and Delhi for locals. They also submitted a memorandum on his behalf to the Railway minister. Baluni then appealed to Vaishnaw to start the train service who had promised to start it soon.
