Rain forecast again in mountains and plains today

The recent change in the weather has brought some respite from the summer heat. The rainy weather and comparatively lower temperatures are expected to continue in the State for a few more days. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at few places in the mountainous regions and at isolated places in the plains of the State on Sunday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with thunder cloud development likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 32.6 degrees Celsius and 20.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31 degrees Celsius and 20.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.4 degrees Celsius and 9.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 21.8 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was reported in some parts of the State on Saturday with 26.5 millimetres in Nainital, 15 millimetres in Jyolikot, 9.5 millimetres in Bhimtal, 7.5 millimetres in Ramnagar and six millimetres in Salt.
