Raturi directs timely completion of government construction projects

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi directed departments concerned on Wednesday to complete all government-approved construction projects in the State within the stipulated timeline with adherence to quality standards.

During an Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) meeting at the Secretariat, she said that the construction of government buildings should follow the State’s traditional architectural style and green building standards. She stated that there will be no compromise on quality and instructed officials to ensure strict compliance.

She also approved a proposal worth Rs 19,989.32 lakh for the supply and installation of equipment in government medical colleges to strengthen health infrastructure. She also approved revised estimates of Rs 29,893 lakh for remedial work in Balianala, Nainital.

Other approved projects include Rs 1,956.85 lakh for flood protection along the Yamuna River in Uttarkashi, Rs 2,031.56 lakh for infrastructure development in Bharadisain, Chamoli, Rs 2,328.29 lakh for building construction at Government Polytechnic, Garud and Rs 1,268.70 lakh for similar works at Government Polytechnic, Satpuli. Besides this, Rs 2,416.88 lakh was approved for an academic block at Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technical University, Rs 5,564.89 lakh for a railway over bridge construction in Dehradun’s Dharampur area and Rs 1,256.47 lakh for an electricity distribution system in Patel Nagar, Dehradun. She also approved revised estimates of Rs 2,169.96 lakh for the Indiranagar water supply project, Rs 1,458.76 lakh for the Sanskriti Lok Colony water scheme and Rs 2,037.29 lakh for tubewell and pipeline work in Pithuwala in Dehradun.
