Raturi tells officers to ensure U’khand maintains 1st position in ADG indicators

Chief secretary Radha Raturi has directed the officers of the Civil Supplies department to prepare a work plan for distribution of pulses through PDS for removing malnutrition among women and children and to achieve the target of zero hunger. She reviewed the status of the State in different indicators of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at the secretariat on Friday. In the meeting she directed that the nodal officers should be appointed by the department concerned in the areas having low indicators. She expressed hope that the top position of the State in the SDG indicators is maintained. The CS said that a special plan should be prepared for the divyang children who have not completed secondary education. She directed that the divyang students should be identified at the Anganwadi levels and special arrangements for imparting education to them should be made.  Raturi said that necessary amendments in the entrepreneurship development policy should be made in order to achieve the target of gender equality and participation of women in the workforce.

 She said that areas having problems of anemia and low body mass index in women and children should be identified and the officers should work with a target approach to resolve the problem. The CS said that the responsibility of the urban development department and pollution control board should be fixed for improving the air quality in the State and efforts for solid waste management and controlling air pollution should be done.

Taking stern note of the cases of crime against children, human trafficking and missing children the CS directed the department of home to collect accurate data and said that prompt action in such cases should be taken.

Raturi said that the vigilance department should register all cases of corruption and ensure that the process of investigation should be carried till the charges are proved.

The additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Ravinath Raman, Shailesh Bagauli and others attended the meeting.
