Rawat holds first meeting with officials on assuming charge as CM
Directs showering of flower petals on devotees during Mahashivratri Snan in Kumbh Mela
Flower petals will be showered from a helicopter on devotees in the first Shahi Snan of the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar on the occasion of Mahashivratri on Thursday. Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat issued this direction while chairing his first meeting with senior government officials after assuming office here on Wednesday.
The CM said that while observing necessary precautions, it should be ensured that the devotees arriving for the Kumbh do not face any inconvenience. The devotees should be able to take the holy dip in the Ganga conveniently, he said while adding that the respect for members of the religious fraternity should be topmost. The CM stressed that a divine and grand Kumbh Mela should be ensured. He said, “All of us have to work together to take the state forward on the path of development. Public representatives and officials have an important role to play in this. The officials should work in their full capacity. The development of Uttarakhand is the responsibility of all of us. All the people should fulfil their responsibility with full sincerety,” stressed the CM.
The BJP State president and MLA Banshidhar Bhagat, chief secretary Om Prakash, additional chief secretaries Radha Raturi, Manisha Panwar, principal secretaries Anand Bardhan, RK Sudhanshu, secretarites Amit Singh Negi, Nitesh Jha, Radhika Jha, Dilip Jawalkar and Sowjanya were among those present in the meeting.
