Already reeling from the effects of disasters in Dharali and other parts of the State, Uttarakhand is in for another spell of rough weather. The State Meteorological Centre has issued a red warning (take action) regarding the possibility of extremely heavy and heavy to very heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday.
The centre has forecast that extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and very intense to extremely intense spells of rain area very likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts today.
An orange alert (be prepared to take action) has also been issued regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at a few places in Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Almora districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense to very intense spells of rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Almora districts on Wednesday.
For Thursday too, the centre has issued a red warning regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at a few places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts.
