Those living in Sudarshan Vihar Residential Society located in Gurjara Mansingh area under the Ward no 59 of the Dehradun Municipal Corporation planted 40 saplings to mark the Harela festival. A participant Yogesh Negi said that their initiative stood exemplary to the residents’ commitment to the cause of environmental protection. The local councilor Shivani Bansal and her husband led the plantation drive during which saplings of Indian gooseberry; golden shower and guava were planted.
Those present vowed to ensure that the saplings planted on the special day flourish into full-grown trees.
