Panchayati Raj minister Satpal Maharaj informed that the Central government has recently allocated Rs 193.84 crore to strengthen Panchayats in Uttarakhand. This funding will support the organisation of training programmes aimed at enhancing the capacity of all newly elected Panchayat representatives. Additionally, efforts will be made to make the Panchayats self-reliant and developed.

Maharaj said this during a meeting with newly elected public representatives from the three-tier panchayat elections in Rudraprayag district. The representatives expressed their collective support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami while sharing the concerns and priorities of their constituents.

Maharaj congratulated the newly elected representatives on their new responsibilities and emphasised the need to develop both the country and the State under the leadership of PM and CM. He urged them to unite in their efforts to serve rural communities. Maharaj highlighted that Panchayats are the primary units of development and assured that there would be no shortage of funds to empower these units. He encouraged the public representatives to disseminate information about the schemes from both the Central and State Governments to grassroots levels and to ensure their implementation with transparency.
