In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Chamoli district administration has decided to develop Sarkot village in Gairsain block as a Chief Minister Model Village. Charing a high-level meeting involving officers of all departments, the district magistrate Sandip Tiwari announced this and directed the officers to ensure that all the departmental schemes are implemented in a well-planned way. Also, he directed them to visit the village soon and formulate appropriate schemes with focus on individual, social, economic and human resources development to facilitate swift development of the village. He laid particular stress on agriculture, horticulture, hygiene and irrigation among others.
