Expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court over its indictment of the State Election Commission as regards the ‘double vote’ mess in the panchayat election, the Congress said that it had buttressed the party’s view. “This is part of the BJP’s game of staying put in power perpetually through hijacking democracy. The Supreme Court’s stern stance on this matter will strengthen democracy and send a clear message that the judiciary will not allow anyone to fiddle with democracy,” said the State Congress spokesperson, Garima Mehra Dasauni.
