Dehradun police constable donates platelets to cancer patient, marks 80th blood donation

Police constable Shahnawaz Ahmad, posted at the Dehradun SSP Office, donated platelets to a cancer patient undergoing treatment at Kailash Hospital, marking his 80th blood donation. A message was shared on a WhatsApp group requesting urgent help for a woman in need of platelets on April 13.
In response, Ahmad immediately went to Kailash Hospital and voluntarily donated platelets, offering critical assistance to the patient. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh also praised Ahmad for his blood donation work that he had been doing for years. He said that the family of the patient also expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Uttarakhand Police, praising their prompt and humane response.
He said that this act of service highlights the police’s continuous commitment to not only maintaining law and order but also fulfilling their humanitarian duties. The constable had previously donated blood 79 times, showcasing his consistent dedication to helping those in need.
