The State chief secretary Anand Bardhan directed the officials to take prompt steps to set up Block Public Health Unit, District Integrated Public Health Laboratory (DIPHL) and Critical Care Block under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) and stressed on bringing them into operation at the earliest. He made these observations while presiding over a meeting convened to review the PM-ABHIM and the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (PMVY) on Wednesday.
He sought detailed information from the officials regarding these schemes and emphasised the need for a time-bound action plan to complete the construction of all units and initiate their operations. He instructed that monitoring should be conducted at both the State and district levels to ensure timely implementation of the schemes. The chief medical officers (CMOs) were directed to monitor these units on a weekly basis. Further, he urged the utility certificates for completed units be submitted to the Central government promptly.
The CS stressed on maximising beneficiary registration under PMVY while calling for the swift resolution of pending applications for the scheme at the levels of the district implementation committee and urban local body.
“Continuous monitoring is essential to ensure that artisans receive maximum benefits,” he said while highlighting the need to promote the sale of handloom and handicraft products through ecommerce platforms under PMVY. He suggested making adequate arrangements for stalls to showcase the State’s products in unity malls located in other states.
