Several routes to remain diverted in Doon for Muharram procession

The Dehradun Police has issued a traffic diversion plan for the Muharram procession scheduled for Friday. According to the advisory, traffic arrangements will be implemented from 2 PM onwards in a phased manner as the procession moves through different parts of the city.
Regular traffic towards EC Road will be restricted from Eucalyptus Chowk, Beni Bazaar and Survey Chowk once the procession begins from EC Road. Traffic on EC Road will be restored after the procession crosses Survey Chowk. Vehicles coming from Survey Chowk towards Parade Ground will be diverted via Cross Road and Buddha Chowk. As the procession moves from Parade Ground towards Rozgar Tiraha, Convent Tiraha and Lansdowne Chowk, traffic will be diverted towards Survey Chowk. When the procession proceeds from Lansdowne Chowk towards Darshan Lal Chowk, traffic at Survey Chowk will be normalised while movement towards Darshan Lal Chowk from Lansdowne Chowk will remain restricted.
Police said that no traffic will be allowed behind the procession as it moves through Darshan Lal Chowk, Tehsil Chowk and Inamullah building on Gandhi Road. Vehicles will be diverted via Darshan Lal Chowk, Buddha Chowk, Doon Chowk and Hotel Drona cut. Normal traffic movement will resume after the procession concludes at Inamullah building.
Special diversions have also been announced for Vikram vehicles and city buses. Route number three Vikrams will return from Race Course Chowk via Race Course PNB Tiraha and Araghar T-Junction, while Vikrams on routes number five and eight will be diverted from Railway Gate. Route number two Vikrams, city buses and commercial vehicles will return from Sahastradhara Crossing, while Vikrams coming from Premnagar and Cantonment areas will be diverted from Bindal Bridge.
Police have appealed to residents to follow the diversion plan and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure smooth movement and public safety during the procession.
