The Haridwar police have constituted Shakti Vahini I and Shakti Vahini II groups as an initiative for the immediate redressal of the issues of female police personnel of the district on Sunday on the orders of the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ajai Singh.
The police informed that the SSP had organised a monthly conference of police personnel a few days ago but many female personnel did not come forward regarding their issues in a room filled with several officials considering which, the SSP ordered to make a separate arrangement for the female police personnel. As per the order, Shakti Vahini I and Shakti Vahini II groups have been constituted by the police on Sunday for personnel of city and rural areas respectively.
The police informed that the women helpline in-charges of the city and rural areas have been appointed as in-charge of the groups. All women police personnel of the city and rural areas of the district have also been linked to the Shakti Vahini group on WhatsApp for better coordination.
The police said that in each group, the sub-inspector level police officer will address the problems of women personnel and forward them along with their remarks for the perusal of the SSP. According to them, this initiative will help the women personnel from both urban and rural areas to present their issues before senior officials without any hassle.
