Shankaracharya’s seat & Rawal proceed towards Badrinath

The ritual process of reopening of Badrinath temple progressed with the seat of Adi Shankaracharya, Gadu Ghada and the Rawal (chief priest) of the temple departing from the Narsinh temple in Joshimath for Badrinath on Tuesday. The procession will halt for the night at Pandukeshwar.
After Vedic rituals in the Narsinh temple, the seat of Adi Shankaracharya and the Rawal, Isvari Prasad Namboodari departed for the Yogdhyan Badri Mandir in Pandukeshwar. On Wednesday, the Rawal along with the lord’s companions Uddhav and Kuber will depart for Badrinath.
Earlier, local women sang traditional Maangal songs and showered flowers on the ritual procession which started from the Narsinh temple. The portals of Badrinath temple are slated to be reopened to the public at 7:10 AM on April 27.
