In latest news from Uttarakhand, concerned over the much-touted, under-construction Signature Bridge in Rudraprayag district-the first such bridge under the Badrinath all-weather road project being built at an estimated amount of Rs 76 crore- having swept away for the second time in recent flood, the State government is mulling constructing underpass instead of bridges.
The people are, however, raising the question whether any action would be taken against the executive agency engaged in the construction of the bridge. Rebutting all charges being flung on it for the collapse incident, the company said that though the bridge had suffered a minor damage, the foundation has remained intact.
