SIR: 89 % enumeration forms distributed, BLOs to focus on digitisation

In the ongoing campaign of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the State, the Booth Level Officers (BLO) have so far distributed 70,43,667 enumeration forms out of total 79,60,762 voters in the State. It means that the BLOs have so far distributed 88.48 per cent enumeration forms and they will now focus on collection of the filled forms and their digitisation.
The additional chief electoral officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande held a video conferencing session with all the district magistrates in which he reviewed the ongoing SIR campaign.
In the meeting the ACEO praised the top districts in distribution of forms and directed them to undertake the work of digitization. In the districts where the work of form distribution is still less than the State average, Jogdande directed that additional mobile teams should be deployed as helping hands in the work of distribution and digitization of counting forms. He said that an intensive publicity campaign should be undertaken in the assembly constituencies where the pace of distribution and digitisation of enumeration forms is slow. He directed that mobile teams and IT teams should be sent to all shadow areas with network issues in order to help the BLOs.
The ACEO also directed that training on the new modules of BLO App should be conducted in all the districts in small groups of 10 to 12 BLOs.
He appealed to the voters to provide their latest passport size photo along with the enumeration forms to the BLO. Jogdande said that during the door-to-door visit between June 8 and July 7, voters will not be required to provide any documents along with the enumeration form. He said that in all the districts, voters can call on the toll free number 1950 for assistance. Apart from this, information can also be obtained by calling 1800 3300 1950 at the state level.
The deputy chief electoral officer Kishan Singh Negi, assistant chief electoral officer Mastu Das attended the meeting.
