SIR: BLOs to enter field reports in enumeration forms of ASD voters

The chief electoral officer (CEO) Uttarakhand, BVRC Purushottam has said that the booth level officers (BLO) should visit the homes of absent voters with the booth level agents during the ongoing process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the State. He was addressing a video conferencing session with all the district magistrates on Tuesday. The deputy election commissioner of the Election Commission of India, Sanjay Kumar accompanied him.  The duo reviewed the process of distribution and digitization of enumeration forms during the ongoing SIR campaign in Uttarakhand.

In the meeting, the CEO Uttarakhand directed that all districts ensure 100 per cent distribution of the enumeration forms within the stipulated time frame. He directed that districts where the distribution of the forms is complete should now focus on digitizing the filled enumeration forms. The CEO directed that the DM themselves conduct booth-wise reviews and that additional personnel be deployed as helping hands at booths where the progress of distribution and digitization is slow.

The DEC of the ECI Sanjay Kumar directed that the BLOs should share the list of the absent voters with their respective BLAs after the end the process of distribution of the enumeration forms and their digitisation. He said that the BLOs should enter field reports on the enumeration forms for areas where there are absent, shifted, dead and duplicate voters.

The additional chief electoral officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande, joint chief electoral officer Prakash Chandra Dumka, assistant chief electoral officer Mastu Das and others attended the meeting.
