The commissioner, Garhwal division, Anand Swaroop inspected four polling stations under Khanpur Assembly constituency limits on Thursday to review the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. He instructed the officials concerned to ensure that the voter list is completely accurate and error-free. “We must ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the list while the name of any ineligible person is not included,” he added.

The commissioner inspected polling stations number 36 Government Primary School Bharuwala, 71 Government Primary School Shekhpuri, 114 Government Primary School Zabardast Pur and 172 Government Higher Primary School Dhandera.

During this, he took information about the revision-related work from the assistant electoral registration officer (AERO) and booth level officer (BLO). He directed that in case of error in the name or address of the voter, death of the voter, change of place or other matters, the help of booth level agents (BLA-2) appointed by political parties should be taken.

Swarup instructed the BLOs to regularly visit the fields to contact the remaining voters and complete the revision work within the stipulated time-frame. He also appealed to voters to cooperate with booth-level officers during the SIR campaign.

Among the senior officers present during the inspection were the sub-divisional magistrate, Laksar, Anil Shukla and municipal commissioner Roorkee, Gopal Ram Binwal.
