In a written reply to a question asked by the Haridwar MP, Trivendra Singh Rawat in the Monsoon Session of Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary informed that ‘Operation Deep Manifest’ being run by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) is continuing with the aim of preventing direct and indirect import of goods originating in or exported from Pakistan.
As of July 2025, a total of five cases involving goods of Pakistani origin have been registered under this campaign in which goods worth Rs 12.04 crores have been seized. In all the cases, the goods have been brought to India via the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In addition, Customs Regional Offices of CBIC have also unearthed 13 cases pertaining to goods of Pakistani origin valued at about Rs12 lakh. In these cases, clear violations of the existing import policy and legal provisions, including DGFT Notification No 06/2025-26 (dated May 2, 2025), were found.
Lauding the Centre’s move in this matter, Rawat said that the ‘Operation Deep Manifest’ had made clear the Centre’s zero tolerance policy regarding any activity against national security and economic interests. “This is a strong message to stop any direct or indirect import of Pakistan-backed or Pakistan-linked goods in the Indian market,” the former CM added.
