In latest Uttarakhand news, the Kedarnath chowki police arrested six persons under section 81 of Uttarakhand Police Act in connection with the viral video purportedly showing a woman asking for Vodka from a local shopkeeper. Earlier, the video was checked for authenticity by the Raudraprayag district social media monitoring team and surveillance cell team. Police learnt that the manager of a cottage and restaurant in Kedarnath had clandestinely shot the video and released it on social media. The accused has been identified as Saurabh Shukla, resident of Lamgondi in Rudraprayag district. Police arrested Saurabh along with his five accomplices on the charge of violating the sanctity of the revered shrine. The locals, however, alleged that the police have taken no action against the liquor mafia operative in the area and the woman who had asked for a bottle of Vodka.
