Six injured after jeep falls down mountainside

Driver was reportedly sleepy when the mishap occurred
A Bolero jeep plying from Delhi to Paubo in Pauri district fell down the mountainside injuring six persons early on Sunday morning. The accident occurred near Devikhal between Dugadda and Gumkhal on the Kotdwar-Pauri national highway. Reaching the accident site on being informed, the police rescued the injured passengers and driver and got them admitted to a hospital in Kotdwar. According to sources, all the injured persons are reported to be out of danger.
The Lansdowne police station got the information from the control room at 6:40 AM that a vehicle number UK 12 TA-1182 had fallen down into a gorge near Devikhal between Dugadda and Gumkhal. After getting the information of the road accident, the police teams from Lansdowne police station and police posts of Dugadda and Gumkhal reached the spot of the accident and rescued all the six injured persons. The injured persons were sent by ambulance to a hospital in Kotdwar. The injured driver Sate Singh told the police that he was driving from Delhi and going towards Paubo when he felt sleepy near Devikhal after which the vehicle fell down the mountainside off the road.
