In view of the ever-increasing number of Kainchi Dham visitors, Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat held an important meeting with administrative officials in Nainital. During the meeting, he gave instructions to make special arrangements for the entry and exit of devotees within a fortnight, as well as to prepare for the launch of a portal for tourist registration.
The meeting revealed that about 1.30 lakh people had visited Kainchi Dham in three days during the Kainchi Mela alone. Generally about 25,000 devotees visit Kainchi Dham on weekends, while last weekend saw 40,000 footfalls.
The meeting also discussed the existing accommodation capacity in the area.
