The State administration has claimed that 52 per cent patch work of the roads in Uttarakhand has been completed. The claim was made during a high level meeting of the officers chaired by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence on Saturday.
In the meeting, the CM directed the officers to ensure that all the roads in the State are pothole-free at the earliest so that better transportation facilities are available to the general public.
On the claim of 52 per cent patch work completion, the CM said that the remaining work should be completed at a fast pace. He directed that the secretaries in charge of all districts should regularly visit their districts to establish communication with the public and expedite the implementation of the government’s various development and public welfare schemes.
In the meeting Dhami also directed that construction and reconstruction work in the disaster-affected areas of the state be taken up on priority.
He called for the immediate reconstruction of essential infrastructure in the affected areas to provide relief to the local population. The CM also stressed the need to quickly repair damaged bridges and accelerate the construction of new bridges. He said that the State government is committed to providing safe, convenient, and improved infrastructure to the public, and that all departments must work in coordination to achieve this.
Principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, secretaries Shailesh Bagauli, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, additional secretary Vineet Kumar and other officers of the Public Works Department attended the meeting.
