CM says a new era of edu system begins in the State with a balance of faith & modernity.

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that with the abolition of the Uttarakhand Madarsa Board and constitution of Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority, effective July 1, 2026 a new era of education system begins in Uttarakhand with a balance of faith and modernity.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority at his residence on Wednesday.
Dhami said that this is not just the launch of an institution, but a decision that will lay a strong foundation for a bright future for every child in the State. The government’s goal is to ensure that every child has equal opportunities and can progress through modern education, technology and skills.
Dhami said that the present era is of knowledge, innovation and technology where AI, machine learning, digital technology and new skills are shaping the future, therefore it is essential that no child in Uttarakhand is left behind in this journey of development.
He said that Uttarakhand, besides being the land of gods, has a rich tradition of knowledge, education and spirituality. “This sacred land has imparted the message of knowledge and culture to the world for centuries. Therefore, it is the state’s responsibility to establish Uttarakhand as a role model for the country in the field of education,’’ he said.
The CM clarified that the Minority Education Authority has not been established to impact the identity or traditions of any community, but to provide better educational opportunities to all sections of society. “The government’s effort is to ensure that children become proficient in science, mathematics, computers, skill development, and modern education while remaining connected to their cultural roots. Education is not just a means to gain employment, but is also the most effective tool to empower, self-reliant and aware society. With quality education, young people not only improve their lives but also make a significant contribution to nation-building,’’ he said.
The Chief Minister said that under the new system, all notified minority communities will be provided equal opportunities. Those groups that were not adequately represented under the previous system will now also receive equal opportunities in the field of education.
He said that the National Education Policy-2020, implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given a new direction to the country’s education system.
He said that Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority will not only be a recognition giving body but will also become a strong medium for quality education, teacher training, transparent system and effective implementation of the NEP-2020.
He expressed confidence that in the coming years the authority will bring positive change in the lives of thousands of children and will make Uttarakhand a leading state in the field of quality and inclusive education.
Dhami appealed to religious leaders, educationists, educational institutions and enlightened citizens of the society to cooperate in making this initiative successful.
