Striving to develop Devbhoomi Uttarakhand as Khel Bhoomi : CM

 Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that efforts are being made by the State government to encourage the sports culture in Uttarakhand. He said that the government is working in the direction of developing ‘Devbhoomi’ Uttarakhand as ‘Khel Bhoomi’ so that young talents can get opportunities to move forward at national and international levels. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 10th Inter-departmental Badminton Tournament-2025, organised by the Uttarakhand Secretariat Badminton Club at the Multipurpose Sports Hall, Parade Ground here on Saturday.

He said that it is necessary for the secretariat personnel to adopt sports activities amidst the busyness of official work, as it brings discipline into life along with relieving stress and keeping the body healthy. He mentioned that remaining healthy is a human being’s greatest capital and sports are the most effective medium in this direction.

Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand is emerging as an example for the country in every field. The State is setting new records of development through innovations, historic decisions and public welfare policies. Recently, National Games were successfully organised in Uttarakhand for the first time, which has led to a remarkable expansion of sports infrastructure and facilities in the State, he said. The CM also showed his skills in the badminton court on the occasion.

DEHRADUN: Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reiterated the commitment of his government to protect the culture of Uttarakhand. Interacting with the media persons at Parade ground on Saturday, the CM said that the demography of the State will not be allowed to change. He warned the encroachers that they should remove their encroachments on their own failing which the government will remove them. Emphasising that the basic framework of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand will not be allowed to be damaged, the CM said that the ongoing anti-encroachment drive in the State will be intensified. He averred that the State government has freed more than 10,000 acres of land from the encroachers.
