Tiwari meets journalists, assures to resolve their problems

The additional secretary to the chief minister as well as director general of the Information and Public Relations department, Banshidhar Tiwari met journalists while visiting the District Information Office here on Friday.   He listened to the suggestions, problems and work-related issues involving the journalists.

He said that the media acts as a bridge between society and the administration and plays a vital role in highlighting public concerns. Describing journalists as the fourth pillar of democracy, he commended their impartial and public-interest-oriented work. He assured that all issues raised by journalists would be addressed with sensitivity at the departmental level and resolved promptly.

Tiwari exhorted the district Information officer and all media representatives to work towards further strengthening the culture of quality information dissemination, prompt factual communication and positive dialogue.

“The media’s responsibilities have increased in the rapidly changing information landscape and that the need of the hour is to work with truth, transparency and public trust at the forefront,” he said.
