STF nabs 34th accused in UKSSSC recruitment exam paper leak case

Bounty of Rs 25K each announced on two main accused involved in the case

The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested Sampann Rao from Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the 34th accused in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) exam paper leak case. The senior superintendent of police (SSP) of STF Ajai Singh said that the accused Rao has been a close accomplice of Sadiq Moosa, who is allegedly the kingpin of the recruitment exam cheating gang in UP.

Singh said that the accused Rao is a native of Ghazipur in UP and was nabbed on the basis of strong proof and technical evidence gathered during the investigation by STF teams. The STF has found evidence that Rao allegedly had stayed in Haldwani along with some other accused to leak the paper before the examination, stated the SSP. He added that the authorities have also recovered Rs three lakh from the accused’s house that he got for leaking the exam paper. Besides this, the authorities have also recovered an amount of Rs six lakh from another accused Vipin Bihari’s Lucknow residence who has been already arrested by the STF, said Singh. 

He said that the authorities have recovered a total of Rs 92 lakh in cash in the UKSSSC paper leak case so far from the accused persons. He said that the authorities have also recovered details of illegal assets worth crores of rupees of the accused and have already frozen dozens of bank accounts.

Moreover, the STF has also declared a bounty of Rs 25,000 each on the kingpin and partner of the UKSSSC paper leak case 

Syed Sadiq Moosa and his accomplice Yogeshwar Rao who belong to Ambedkar Nagar and Lucknow respectively, said the SSP.
