PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun
The father of a student, who has been in coma for the last 10 days after a fall from the balcony of a coaching academy’s hostel in Rajpur area, demanded a thorough investigation into the incident. After 10 days since the incident happened, police registered a case following a meeting between the student’s family members and the senior superintendent of police, Dehradun, Pramendra Dobal. A complaint has been submitted at Rajpur police station, raising suspicion about the role of the girl’s roommates.
As per the complaint, Delisha Bhagovr, a student of a private coaching academy, stayed in a hostel in Rajeshwar Nagar. On the night of June 4, her father, Rahul Bhagovr, had received a phone call informing him that his daughter had fallen from the third-floor balcony of the hostel building.
Bhagovr, hailing from Agra, said that he believes the statements of his daughter’s friends are not true. He requested the police to conduct a detailed investigation and examine all CCTV footage and other evidence related to the case.
In his complaint, he also asked police to record the statements of the girls who were staying with Delisha separately and on camera. He further said that his daughter, currently admitted to Max Hospital and undergoing treatment in the Neuro ICU, is critical. The father alleged that his daughter might have been pushed from the balcony by some girls staying with her.
Rajpur police have received the complaint and are looking into the matter. The SSP Dobal said that all aspects of the case would be examined, including CCTV footage and statements of those present at the hostel at the time of the incident. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the student’s fall, the SSP added.
