Success of Rahul’s programme shows Uttarakhand stands with Congress: Selja

The Congress Uttarakhand in-charge Kumari Selja said the success of the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ programm’ of the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in Dehradun on Friday shows that the people of Uttarakhand are with the Congress party on the issues of youngsters and corruption. Interacting with the media persons here on Saturday, she said that from cancelling the permission of Parade Ground to holding parallel programmes, the State government made every effort to hamper Gandhi’s event without success.
Expressing gratitude of the youngsters, general public, party workers and leaders for the programme’s success, she said that BJP is afraid of Rahul Gandhi so whenever he tries to raise the public issues in the Parliament and outside, the government tries to create hindrances. Selja said that Uttarakhand has become the paper leak capital of the country due to which the future of the students is in peril. She said that paper leak is also a kind of corruption and the double engine government is responsible for it. The Congress leader said that just like termite, corruption has eaten into the governance and system in Uttarakhand.
She added that the theft in offerings at Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand has hurt the sentiments of the people of the country. Launching an attack on the State government, Selja said that the mining and land mafia are ruling the roost in Uttarakhand. She said that the Congress party is going to the people with all these issues through its Parivartan Sankalp Yatra. She said that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi and other leaders will visit the State in the near future. Selja said that the Congress party is fully prepared for the Vidhan Sabha elections in Uttarakhand whenever they are held and claimed that the people of the State are also waiting eagerly for these elections to bring Congress in the power.
The Pradesh Congress Committee president Ganesh Godiyal, leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha Yashpal Arya, the chairman of the election campaign committee Pritam Singh, co- in charges Surendra Sharma and Manoj Yadav, head of the election management committee Harak Singh Rawat, AICC secretary Qazi Nizamuddin, former PCC president Karan Mahara and deputy leader of Congress Legislature Party Bhuwan Kapdi accompanied Selja.
