The district magistrate, Prashant Arya, while conducting a detailed review of the Cooperative department, stressed on accelerating the departmental functioning. During the meeting, he evaluated the work of the officers posted in the nyaya panchayats.  He later said that actions would be taken against those officers whose work is unsatisfactory as per the rules.

He further stressed the need for a concrete and practical action plan to turn loss-making cooperative societies into profitable ones. He specifically called for a well-organised market for kiwi farmers.

He directed that farmers be provided with maximum benefit from zero-percent interest loan schemes while calling for a special campaign to cover all eligible farmers under government schemes and ensure timely access to credit, enabling them to invest in agriculture and increase their income.
