The Char Dham Teerth Purohit Mahapanchayat has demanded that the Central government should establish a Sanatan Dharm Protection Council. It also demanded that all Hindu temples in the country should be freed from government control.

In an online meeting chaired by the Mahapanchayat chief Suresh Semwal, the members demanded formation of a Sanatan Dharm Protection Council comprising Shankaracharyas, Dharmacharyas, Teerth Purohits, priests, stakeholders and subject experts from different fields. Stating that most of the temples under government control are affected by irregularities and corruption, the members demanded that all Hindu temples should be freed from government control. Kedar Sabha head Rajkumar Tiwari objected to statements made by former chief minister and Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat in favour of the Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board stating that he should inform the public about the achievements of the board.
