Gautam Lal, a resident of Nauli village in Tehri district was martyred in the Mon district of Nagaland on Saturday. Gautam along with 13 people were killed in firing by the military forces. The mortal remains of the army paratrooper will be brought to Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun on Monday. He was recruited in the 21st Battalion of the Parachute Regiment in the year 2018. The Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh expressed deep grief over the martydom of Lal. Tention prevailed over the incident in the Mon district on Sunday and a court of inquiry has reportedly been constituted to investigate the matter.
