Temperatures dip below normal day after snowfall in State

The maximum and minimum temperatures dropped a few notches below normal in Dehradun and other parts of the State, intensifying the cold on Tuesday even though there was no significant rain or snowfall in the State. Dehradun witnessed its lowest minimum temperature this winter at 5.6 degrees Celsius while other parts of the State also experienced temperatures dipping below normal.
The State Meteorological Centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State on Wednesday. However, it also issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of ground frost likely to occur at isolated places over mountainous districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 24 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 21.8 degree Celsius and 5.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 23 degrees Celsius and 3.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 13.1 degrees Celsius and minus 1.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 13.5 degrees Celsius and 0.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature was one degree Celsius below normal while the minimum was three degrees Celsius below normal in Dehradun. The maximum was a degree below normal while the minimum was four degrees below normal in Pantnagar. Similarly, the maximum was a degree below normal and the minimum was six degrees below normal in Mukteshwar while the maximum was four degrees below normal and the minimum was five degrees below normal in New Tehri.
