Temperatures remain above normal coupled with considerable diurnal variation

Even as the maximum and minimum temperatures continued to remain a few notches above normal in various parts of the State, the diurnal temperature variation has remained considerable. The difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures was about 14 degrees Celsius in Dehradun on Saturday. As a result, the provisional State capital has continued to witness comparatively warm days and cooler nights.
The State meteorological centre forecast on Saturday that dry weather is likely to prevail in all districts of the State today. Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear sky. Mist/haze is likely to occur during the morning hours while the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Saturday were 31.4 degrees Celsius and 17.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 31 degrees Celsius and 22.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.4 degrees Celsius and 11.1 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.3 degrees Celsius and 12.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum and minimum temperatures were four and three degrees Celsius respectively above normal in Dehradun. The maximum was a degree while the minimum was nine degrees above normal in Pantnagar. Similarly, the maximum and minimum temperatures were four and degrees respectively above normal in Mukteshwar. The maximum was two degrees and minimum was three degrees above normal in New Tehri.
