The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) commenced the online testing procedure for student selections based on the applications received for enrollment in classes located on its premises on Tuesday. This selection process will conclude on April 24. The admission registration for various classes at NIEPVD began on February 10, with an initial deadline of March 15. However, parents reported delays in schools releasing their results, which hindered their ability to complete the registration process. In response to these concerns, they requested an extension.
Consequently, the deadline for the admission registration process for other classes was extended to April 10.
Addressing the current status, the principal of NIEPVD Amit Sharma stated that the registration process for admissions concluded on April 10. He said that they received about 125 applications from various States for enrollment in the classes offered on the premises. Sharma informed that a shortlist of students will be created from the applications received, with the selection process based on an online test. This online test for available seats began on April 22 and will conclude on April 24. The assessment will evaluate students’ basic knowledge, specific subject expertise and psychological attributes. A panel consisting of four to five members will conduct the online test and manage the selection process. He said that the shortlist of students might be ready by April 25 and classes are expected to commence in the first week of May, following document verification.
It will be recalled that this year in NIEPVD 10 seats have been allocated for Bal Vatika, while seats have been reserved for other classes as follows: five for class I, three for class II, one for class III, two for class IV and ten for class IX. Additionally, no seats were available for classes V, VII and VIII this year.
