THDCIL’s  2nd unit of Khurja STPP starts commercial operation

THDC India Limited commenced the commercial operation of the 2nd Unit (660 MW) of the (2×660 MW) Khurja Super Thermal Power Project in Khurja, Uttar Pradesh. Virtually inaugurating the operation, the Union Minister of Power, Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal underlined the crucial role of KSTPP in driving power sector growth, strengthening grid stability and meeting the energy aspirations of Uttar Pradesh and the nation. The minister of Energy & Urban Development, Uttar Pradesh, A K Sharma said that his State is a major beneficiary, receiving 64.7 per cent of the power generated by Khurja STPP. “It is set to play a pivotal role in making UP self-reliant in the energy sector and supporting regional development,” he added.

The chairperson, Central Electricity Authority, Shri Ghanshyam Prasad said that KSTPP would not only enhance power supply in Uttar Pradesh and northern India but reaffirm the nation’s commitment to developing modern, efficient and sustainable power infrastructure.

The chairman and managing director, THDCIL, R K Vishnoi  also addressed the occasion.
