In latest news from Uttarakhand, hordes of devotees have been arriving in the revered Kainchi Dham shrine hallowed with the spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba to mark the 60th foundation day of the ashram. The influx of devotes in their thousands started last evening and at 5 am a large number of people was found standing in serpentine queues to have darshan on the auspicious occasion. Braving the scorching heat wave and relentless wildfires sweeping across the region, devotees from far and wide keep thronging the shrine in endless stream. A member of the temple committee Pradip Shah said that the number of devotees might cross two lakh by the evening.
Meanwhile, the police have left no stone unturned to ensure a peaceful and trouble-free congregation of the devotees. The SSP Nainital Prahlad Narayan Meena himself is overseeing things from the shrine. Police claimed that despite the huge devotee influx, no major traffic congestion has been reported from the roads leading to the shrine.
