Three persons died and four were severely injured after the car carrying them from Ghaziabad to Almora district fell into a gorge in the Bhikiyasain area of the district. The police informed that the car of the family, who belong to Almora but were living in Ghaziabad, fell into a gorge in the Bhikiyasain area on Thursday evening. There were four adults and three children in the car during the accident. The police said that though the teams of experts along with the officials from the revenue department and regional transport office (RTO) among others arrived at the accident site to find the probable cause of the accident, it is being speculated that the driver was drowsy and could not control the car near the bend where the car fell into the gorge. Three people- Chandraprakash and his wife Rashmi and Hemant died on the spot whereas three children and a man sustained serious injuries and are under treatment, as per the police. The local people called the authorities after the accident and helped them to take the injured to the hospital. The police said that they are investigating the matter.
