Three more test positive for dengue, one for Covid-19 in Dehradun

Dehradun district reported three new cases of dengue and one new case of Covid-19 on Thursday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that among the three new dengue cases, two patients were treated at the outpatient department of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, while one was admitted to Graphic Era Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 199, with 103 originating from Dehradun and 96 from other districts or States.

Currently, there are 17 active dengue patients receiving treatment: 10 at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Himalayan Hospital, one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, one at Graphic Era Hospital, one at Max Hospital and two being treated at home. On Thursday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted surveys in 10,612 households to check for mosquito larvae. They found larvae in 244 homes. Additionally, ASHA workers and volunteers examined 75,550 containers on Thursday and discovered that 331 of them contained larvae.

One positive case of Covid-19 was also reported on Thursday, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the district to 102, which includes 87 local residents and 15 migrants. There is currently one active Covid-19 case receiving treatment at home. On Thursday, a total of 12 samples were tested for Covid-19, contributing to a cumulative total of 1,115 tests conducted.
